Buying used is a good way to get more vehicle for your budget, as long as you ask the right questions.
Start with the history. Ask for a vehicle history report and compare the VIN on the report with the VIN on the vehicle. Look at ownership and any recorded incidents.
Ask about service records. Regular maintenance is one of the best signals of how a vehicle was treated.
Inspect in person. Walk around the exterior in good light, check the tires, test every control inside, and take a test drive that includes city and highway speeds.
Finally, read the paperwork. Confirm what taxes and fees apply in your province, and ask for a clear breakdown before you commit.
